The Solidarity Alliance at UC-Berkeley stands together with all affected students, workers, and faculty in public higher education across the state of California. Together we await the Regents’ decision on fee increases and issue the following demands:

 

Rescind all lay offs and halt all pay cuts!

Stop the student fee increases!

Give us full transparency of the UC budget!

End emergency powers and bring democracy to UC!

THE FACULTY HERE ONLY RECEIVED NOTICE OF THIS MEETING A FEW DAYS AGO.  IT WILL CONSIST OF PRESENTATIONS BY REPRESENTATIVES OF THE COMMISSION AND APPOINTED REPRESENTATIVES OF FACULTY, STUDENTS AND STAFF AT UCSB.

In a recent interview with the NY Times, Pres. Mark Yudof said this:

"[B]eing president of the University of California is like being manager of a cemetery: there are many people under you, but no one is listening."

Well guess what? We ARE listening, and we don't like these furloughs, layoffs, and fee increases! Let's prove that UC Davis is NOT a cemetery, that it is ALIVE and KICKING.

This is a party for public education! Come to learn more about what decisions are being made to kill public education and what you can do to save it!
